Apart started with a simple question: what would help someone who is always on actually stop?

Not the retreat version. Not the Sabbath that never arrives. The ordinary version, a small pause inside a full day, with Scripture to say it is allowed.

Apart is a Scripture-grounded rest experience for people who struggle to move out of being constantly on and doing. It brings together permission and protection. Protection is a simple plan for reducing interruptions: how long, where, and the small signals that say you are stepping away, like Focus Mode, an away message, and a calendar block. Permission is Scripture, which offers trusted biblical permission to stop and marks the threshold into rest.

A session moves through five steps: Daily Permission, Prepare, Threshold, Time Apart, and Return.

This is a click-through prototype, not a finished app. I built it for the October 2026 Gloo AI Hackathon, Track 2: Scripture Beyond the App. Focus Mode and away messages are simulated here because they need a native app to work for real. Scripture is shown in the World English Bible, and nothing you enter leaves your device.

What I've learned building this: AI-assisted design and coding. Scripture as healthy permission.
